The Pain Machinery is the solo project of Anders Karlsson. Mr. Karlsson also runs the new label First Aid Recordings which released the cool "Proven In Action" compilation. The Pain Machinery fits somewhere between the rhythmic sounds of Dive and the oldschool EBM sound of older Frontline Assembly or Pygmy Children. This combination of harsh industrial soundscapes and melodic EBM rhythms works well on TPM's debut album "The Venom Is Going Global." Excellent tracks like "Blind Faith" and the frantic "Inside" are all very nice. TPM reminds me a lot of Dive, especially on tracks like "One." Fans of EBM and harsh industrial will find what they're looking for with The Pain Machinery.
