The Pain Machinery
Hostile:

With his second album on BLC, The Pain Machinery aka Anders Karlsson unleashes a melting pot of electronic music, including EBM, power electro, noisy industrial, experimental, and techno.

The Swedish musician is celebrating an interesting interaction between oldschool and modern elements whilst entirely sticking to a certain minimal fragrance regarding sounds and rhythm. At times crashing, harsh and noisy ("Outbreak", "Dehumanize"), at times pulsating and with pumping tech-beats ("Access Control"), at times with an oldschool EBM-ish flavor and squeaking bleeps ("Voltage"), or slow paced with kinda Klinik-like coldness woven in ("Pre-programmed Automatic"), this trip manages to effect as antidote to any boredom attack. Another notable piece which should have a place on the DJ's playlist is the body music inspired "Carrier" with its kinda groovy beats. TPM's distorted vocal work suits totally to the voltage-driven soundscapes. Partly you'll also find some voice samples instead or in addition. Generally the atmosphere of this record is kinda icily, and often a certain monotonous course deepens this. So not really a record for a romantic picnic with your lovely one.
Well, unless you wanna try this out...
Recommendable record!
