The Pain Machinery
Terminate transmission:

This is a one-man band from Stockholm making harder industrial noise kind of music similar to the stuff coming from the ant-zen label. I would like to criticise much of the ant-zen stuff for being to chaotic, extreme and unstructured. You can't say that about the music made by The Pain Machinery. It's hard, rhythmic, noisy and distorted, but has the necessary structure and musicality.

There are seven tracks on this demo. "Enter" kicks off with heavy rhythmical and distorted noise beats making most concurrents sound very boring and gloomy in comparison. It continues in the same cool way and in "Urban Paranoia", the bass line feels a lot like old Noise Unit stuff from the "Strategy of Violence" era. Unfortunately, a couple of the songs doesn't reach all the way. Although, there are a few good songs here and none of the tracks are bad. My guess is that The Pain Machinery will be signed by a label pretty soon because this is good stuff. ikon (6/10)
