The Pain Machinery is a new band from Stockholm that proves to be really promising with the seven tracks of this "Terminate Transmission". On this demo, Anders Karlsson, the man behind this project, plays a furious and intense mixture of beats, screams, samples, guitars and distortion. Bombastic and majestic, sometimes saturated, sometimes "clearer", the songs are complex and full of really different sounds. The whole thing isn't too fast, but is centered around the heavyness and efficiency of the tracks. As a result, all the tracks are catchy, and quite danceable.

To compare The Pain Machinery with other bands, I would say this demo reminds me of XXX Atomic Toejam (A band who released a two tracks MCD on Cold Meat Industry a long time ago) and Feindflug. Integrating well lots of current influences, and beneficiting from an almost pro recording and mastering, The Pain Machinery manages to be the sort of band that you don't forget easily. To conclude, this demo is an excellent surprise and comes from a band that should easily get new followers or find a label.
